N+1 Redundancy 

A form of resilience that ensures system availability in the event of a component failure. Components (N) have at least one independent backup component (+1). Here, "N" could represent the number of components necessary to operate under normal conditions, and the "+1" is the backup that kicks in should one of the "N" components fail.
